Our senior steelpan ensemble brings older adults together through music, learning, and performance—demonstrating that creativity and musicianship have no age limit.

Mosaic Academy Newport News

Based at Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center, Mosaic Academy Newport News is part of the Orchestra’s youth development programming, giving young people opportunities to develop musicianship, discipline, collaboration, and confidence through steelpan.

Pans on Fire

The Orchestra’s adult ensemble brings together developing and experienced adult players to learn, rehearse, and perform steelpan repertoire in an engaging ensemble environment.

Mosaic Academy Norfolk

Based at the Orchestra’s Norfolk headquarters, Mosaic Academy Norfolk develops young musicians through ensemble training that combines steelpan technique, rhythm, music literacy, movement, collaboration, and performance.

Founded in 2006, Mosaic Steel Orchestra is a nonprofit organization dedicated to generating creativity in distressed communities through steelpan, cultivating the next generation of problem solvers.

Through youth, adult, and senior programming, the Orchestra creates opportunities for people across generations to learn, perform, connect, and grow through music.
